This was a small hotel. It had everything we needed but it was not fancy. The staff made the experience wonderful. Everyone knew our name, our favorite foods and drinks. They made us feel at home. Service was quick and friendly.

This hotel is not worth the money, however much of a bargain it appears to be. Upon check-in we were given the WORST room possible. After much discussion by very unfriendly staff, we were moved, but to another unsatisfactory room. We were told that was the best they could do even though we paid for a different type of room. The food here is HORRIBLE, not just bad, but HORRIBLE!. ...and the same bad food day after day. There is only one restaurant available every day, not the options we were told exsisted. We are not really picky eaters, but it was impossible to find anything but fruit and toast to eat. After a few days of fruit and bread we noticed that the birds and bugs also liked the open air dining atmosphere as they sat on the counters and picked at food that we were in line to eat. Drinks are just as bad. Everything was the cheapest brand and barely any alcohol served in the mixed drinks. The beach is nice, but not private and can be accessed by anyone passing by. Pool is fine...clearly the best part of the hotel. We will never stay here again.

Spent another week at the Samba Nov. 09. Wow imagin my suprise no bugs no rust no robbery the air still works cheap drinks and mostly a staff that would probably give up their first born if asked. I think this place i amazing in every aspect. Ok mayby the buffets could be a little better. But come on now the money you save at this little piece of paradise will buy a real nice dinner somewhere in town. There were 28 of us this last trip and not one complaint. I think that says something about the Samba and the staff.

We stayed at this hotel in Dec ‘09. It was the worst stay we have ever experienced & we have experienced many. Upon arriving in our suite it was dated & smelled musty. There was water on the floor in one of the bathrooms. They came to look at it, put 2 towels on the floor and left without telling us anything. The A/C doesn’t work well & the windows get a lot of condensation on them. The tile work in the bathrooms is old. The food at the buffets was HORRIBLE. We have stayed at other all-inclusives and have never had such terrible food as was the food at Samba. The majority of the food was American style. Hardly anything was Mexican. Most items were cold, bland or empty. Now the WORST part of our stay. The constant LOUD MUSIC at the pool area from 10am to 6pm. With the loud music there are many announcements that are even louder than the music itself. You could not relax in the room or by the pool because the music is pounding in your head all day. Each night they had a show in the pool area that went on until 10:30pm. The kicker was the “Disco Night” on Friday and Saturday night that went from 11:00pm to 1:00am outside at the pool area. This means that any rooms on the pool side of the hotel have to listen to loud music until 1:00am. Ridiculous! We complained about all of these issues & asked for 2 nights credit. Our request was denied by the GM & they offered us a free massage instead. This is an actual quote from the front desk manager “This is not a hotel for relaxing.”

We stayed 6 nights at Samba Vallarta and this was our first All-Inclusive experience and we couldn't have been more satisfied. The staff is extremely courteous, the children activities were good for our 5 year old son. The pool was refreshing and the Mexican and Italian Restaurants are some of the best dinners I've ever had. You're not going to get the most glamorous hotel, however, it is extremely solid in everything else it offers!
